Cons: I purchased this after surviving the anime. I wanted to read the full story. I stupidly got this thinking to myself that this would take a while to get through. I was halfway through and realized that the anime left out so much. I was three quarters of the way done the same day it arrived and I realized. My mistake..... I was going to finish this thinking it was no big deal because I've seen it, ya know? I was WRONG. Now I've finished it and I don't have volume 2 and I'm ✨️stressed✨️ Do not let this happen to you. Have at least the next one in your possession before reading. The pros: The book is heavy, well made, thick weighted paper, and the level of detail is amazing in the art. The story adds so much more depth to the characters. Even if you've seen the anime, the full story so far is well beyond what they had in the show and with good reason, I'm not sure they could have animated everything. You'll hate them, you'll love them, you'll experience emotions and get lost in this world. It's painfully beautiful and you will struggle to put it down. I want to proudly display my accomplishments of reading this book because the adventure you begin here is unlike anything else I've been on so far. Now I'm sure if you've made it this far you're already a fan of the series but I just want to remind y'all. THIS IS NOT FOR CHILDREN. It can also be difficult because of the very adult, very traumatic themes. As I hit that spot when I was almost done I ordered volume 2 and now I must wait until Monday to get my hands on it. Should probably go ahead and grab 3 to avoid this anxiety waiting to read what happens next......
