REVIEW

(I have nothing bad to say about this book, so I will not be writing any criticism in my review.) It took me two weeks to write this review… I wasn’t quite sure what to say about it. Obviously, it was magical and amazing. Stephanie Garber never fails to make something that pulls you in and never lets you go. The continuation of Evangeline’s story was just as good as the start. Character growth is sometimes really difficult to portray well. But Stephanie Garber does it fantastically. Her ability to write character changes without making it seem like she’s retconning something or it’s out of character is something that I usually find lacking in books- but she does it. Evangeline has so much growth in OUABH but there was so much more growth in Ballad. Evangeline has become my favorite Stephanie Garber heroine. Jacks. It’s VERY obvious my love for Jacks. He’s my absolute favorite fictional book character. He gets better every book. And I’m excited to see everyone’s reactions to him in Ballad. (Also, most of my favorite quotes from Ballad are his quotes.) The setting in OUABH was stunning. It was easy to picture and completely magical. But Stephanie took it to another level with Ballad. I’ve never wished to be in a fictional world more than I did in Ballad. My favorite place was The Hollow, and I will not tell you why. But it’s my favorite. This book is officially one of my favorites, Stephanie Garber wrote something that’s beautiful and completely enchanting. I would read it over and over and over. I’m genuinely so excited to see what people think because I hope everyone finds it just as amazing as I did.
